The Best Homemade Moisturizer For All Skin Types

Market-based moisturizers are quite costly for a quality that surely disappoints. So, let's prepare the best homemade moisturizer for all skin types.

The moisturizer we are going to prepare today is:

  • Budget-friendly

  • Not gender biased

  • Not subject to any weather

  • Suitable for all skin types

Seems too good to be true, right?

Before making this homemade moisturizer, get into an optimistic mood, play some music, and get excited about the process.

Now take a beautiful bowl and go to your kitchen.

Table of Contents:

Ingredients For Homemade Moisturizer:

Let's gather the ingredients for our homemade moisturizer. Everything we need for preparing this moisturizer is easily available in the market.

1]. Aloe Vera Gel (preferably transparent)

  • Aloe vera is a moisturizer. It has anti-inflammatory properties, which help in soothing the skin.

  • It also helps fight acne-causing germs and other infections.

  • Aloe vera also reduces blemishes and works as an anti-ageing agent.

2]. Rose Essential Oil

  • This essential oil will add fragrance to the moisturizer. So you might be thinking that you can replace it with tea tree oil or any other essential oil.

  • But rose essential oil will not just give your moisturizer a sweet scent, it will also provide some benefits.

  • This oil can eradicate bacteria that cause acne and remove old acne marks.

3]. Glycerine

  • It hydrates the skin and removes dryness.

  • Glycerine can also protect the skin from irritants.

  • It also effectively accelerates the wound-healing process.

4]. Rose Water (gulab jal)

  • We are already aware of the magic of this sweet-scented liquid, rose water.

  • It brightens the skin and soothes irritation.

  • It also tightens the skin and slows down signs of ageing.

  • Also, it helps cure the puffiness under the eyes and dark circles.

  • Gulab jal has a calming and soothing effect.

If you're uncomfortable with aloe vera gel or any other ingredient on the list. That's fine. You might be facing issues when using them individually.

Here, we mix all the components, and you might not face any problems. Still, if you are sceptical, do a patch test first.

Preparation Of Your Homemade Moisturizer:

STEP 1: Take a bowl. Add two tablespoons of aloe vera gel.

STEP 2: Next, add 2-3 drops of rose essential oil.

STEP 3: Add one tablespoon of glycerine to the mix.

Do not add too much glycerine, as it can make the moisturizer oily. Add it just enough to maintain the consistency of the moisturizer.

STEP 4: Add two tablespoons of gulab jal (you can use whichever brand you are comfortable with).

STEP 5: Mix all the ingredients thoroughly till the moisturizer gets translucent.

You will notice before whisking the product, it was completely transparent as all the ingredients used were transparent.

After whisking nicely for 1-2 mins, the final result will be translucent. That will be your sign that our homemade moisturizer is ready!

You can apply this moisturizer to children as well. But, as it contains essential oil, it might not suit the sensitive skin of some children. You can skip the rose essential oil if you prepare it for a child.

Storage Of Homemade Moisturizer:

Transfer the homemade moisturizer to a container. The container should preferably be a glass container as this will reduce the chances of spoilage.

If you are using a plastic container, that's fine. Just make sure that you use it quickly to avoid spoiling the moisturizer. You can refrigerate it or leave it outside.

One of our special ingredients, glycerine, will preserve the moisturizer. You can take it with you when you travel as it does not need refrigeration.
