Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A, which slows down the breakdown of collagen.

It gives your skin elasticity, firmness and plumpness. In short, it gives you youthfulness.

It is the most important ingredient of the Korean Cosmetics Industry. That’s why they claim to have glass skin.

But do you know that retinol is completely prohibited for aspiring mothers, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers?

It is because researchers proved that even if you use a pea-sized amount of retinol on your face, a foetus or baby can suffer from it.

If you’re 3 months pregnant, doctors will advise you to stop using retinol.

So, if it is harmful to the foetus, how is it going to help you in the long run?

Well, I am not against it.

But I prefer a plant-based method with no side effects.

In this article, we’ll learn a 4-step DIY retinol treatment that can make your skin more youthful: soft and plump.

We’ll use all-natural ingredients including rosehip which is also called as plant-based retinol.

Let’s know what all needs to be done.

Table of Contents:

Step 1: Cleanse

Wash your face properly. If you use makeup, do double cleansing.

For double cleansing, massage your face with face oil and then clean it with your face wash.

We want to ensure that there’s no residue of anything on your face.

Step 2: Face Mask

Ingredients:

Preparation:

Step 1: In a bowl, take 1 tablespoon of Mulethi powder.

Step 2: Take 1 tomato, grind it and extract its juice.

Step 3: Mix both and make a paste.

Application:

Apply it properly on your face. Keep it for approximately 5-7 minutes and wash your face.

Do not scratch your skin at any point. Very gently remove it using a microfiber towel.

This paste is capable of making your face more youthful.

Step 3: Massage

We only need one ingredient which is rosehip oil. Before application, let’s learn about it.

  • It is also called as plant-based retinol.

  • It is very light.

  • It provides optimum hydration.

  • It is loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins and fatty acids.

  • It protects your skin from sun damage.

  • It protects your skin from pigmentation and hyperpigmentation.

  • It doesn’t allow the signs of ageing to come on your skin.

Take 2-3 pumps of rosehip oil in your palm and massage your skin properly.

  • 1/3rd tablespoon of cornstarch.

  • 1/3rd tablespoon of arrowroot powder.

  • 1/3rd tablespoon of xantham gum.

Cornstarch is the best option, but you can use any one of the three.
