Let’s accept it – Weight loss is HARD. For many, it seems impossible. Losing weight can be stressful, which is ironic because stress is one of the factors that can lead to weight gain.
We see people doing crazy exercises and diets to lose weight. These exhaustive diets can lead to nutrient deficiencies causing issues like weakness and hair loss.
In this article, I’ll take you through my journey of losing weight and how you can do it too. Even if I can inspire 10 people through my this blog, I’ll consider it a success.

What the solution is not
It’s high time that we take a kinder approach to weight loss. We’re talking about finding a method that not only works but also feels good for our bodies in the long run.
And let’s not forget about the time problem many of us face. Between work, family, and everything else, finding hours for the gym isn’t always doable.
So why not explore gentler ways to get healthy that fit into our busy lives without stressing us out? It’s all about finding what works best for you and your body, with a sprinkle of kindness and understanding along the way.
Some people choose to go on extensive diets, which can lead to some or other nutrient deficiencies. These diets can lead to weakness, hair fall, and other problems. Also, not all of us have that time to spend in the gym.
Right? So what can be done to lose weight effectively and healthily?
Well, I went on a weight loss journey myself. I did not go on any diet or go to the gym. Nor did I use any of those weight loss supplements. I lost weight by making slight lifestyle changes and being persistent with my schedule.
If you have any medical issues, it is necessary that you first consult with your doctor before bringing any lifestyle changes. But, if you are overweight because of your lifestyle, then trust me, making these changes in your day-to-day activities will work wonders for you.
Why Our Weight Loss Planning Mostly Fails:
Weight loss is a journey filled with ups and downs, successes and setbacks. Despite our best intentions and efforts, sometimes things just don’t go according to plan.
Whether it’s consistently doing a workout, struggling to stick to a diet, or experiencing unexpected weight gain, facing failure on the weight loss journey is not only common but also incredibly frustrating.
Many individuals fail to stick to weight loss plans due to a lack of coordination between the mind and body.
How can we build this coordination?
-
First, you should set realistic expectations. Many of us fall into the trap of expecting rapid results or aiming for an unattainable “perfect” body image. When we don’t see immediate progress or reach our lofty goals, we may feel discouraged and give up altogether.
-
Then, staying consistent. Skipping workouts, indulging in unhealthy meals, or falling off track with our eating habits can all hinder progress. Without consistent effort, it’s difficult to see lasting results.
-
Next is emotional eating, or turning to food for comfort or stress relief, which can sabotage our weight loss efforts. When we use food as a coping mechanism, we may consume more calories than our bodies need, leading to weight gain instead of loss.
-
Overcoming this requires avoiding processed and junk food, and opting for healthy, home-cooked meals. Dividing the day into four parts—morning, afternoon, evening, and night—sets the foundation for successful lifestyle changes.
I would suggest you give up any lethargic food for this duration. No outside food and strictly no junk.
My Personal Journey
In just two months, I managed to shed an impressive 12 kilograms without subjecting myself to any harsh diets, extreme exercise routines, or supplements.
Instead, I started on a natural and gentle weight loss journey that yielded remarkable results, and I’m excited to share my approach with you.
My Weight Loss Routine:
The first and the most crucial point is to be stress-free. You will not be able to lose weight until your body and mind are relaxed.
Morning Hours:
Morning hours are my favourite. It is important to utilise morning hours to contemplate, think about yourself, and bless yourself. Keeping a positive mind will give you positive results.
-
Affirmations: Make some Morning Affirmations; for yourself and repeat them every morning. You will ultimately find yourself happy and cheerful.
-
Morning Drink: After morning affirmations, the first thing I do every morning is drink three glasses of warm water. Add lemon and honey to the first glass of warm water. Adding lemon and honey is a natural weight loss remedy. You can think of it as a medicine that cuts out excessive fats in the body without exercise.
-
Clearing The Gut: Three glasses of warm water will help flush out all the toxins from the body and clear the gut. People suffering from constipation might see the results gradually, but this will work.
-
Exercise: The next thing I suggest doing in the morning is exercising. Those starting to exercise for the first time might face difficulties for the first 4-5 days. You will feel low stamina and feel like giving up. I suggest you start with low-impact exercises like walking or simple yoga stretching. You can even do P.T. exercises you must have done in your school days (not joking!). Once you get comfortable with the exercise schedule, start increasing the intensity.
Meals:
Well, some of you might have heard an age-old saying that one should have breakfast like a king.
I compulsorily take two fruits in a day – one after breakfast and one before tea time. If you are not consuming any fruit throughout the day, your body will be deficient in some or the other vitamins or minerals. So remember to make at least two fruits a the chief part of your life.
Breakfast: The next and most important part of your morning is breakfast. There is no special breakfast recipe, have what you have for breakfast daily. Just make sure,
-
Everything is in small quantity. So if you decide to feast like a king in the morning, I suggest you skip lunch.
-
Do not let the clock decide when to eat. Most of us think it is a compulsion to eat food when the clock hits 2. No, there is nothing like that.
-
Eat only when you feel hungry, not when the clock tells you to.
Lunch: Coming on to our next meal, that is lunch. If you had a small breakfast, you should have a proper lunch.
-
During my journey, I have a lunch plate that includes dal, rice, one vegetable, raita, and salad (sometimes papad and pickle as well!).
-
Please do not discontinue consumption of any food items like rice, thinking it would lead to weight gain.
-
Discontinuing a regular food item from your diet will lead to confusion in your body.
-
This can lead to hair loss and skin issues.
-
If you decide to change your diet, do it gradually, giving your body time to adjust to the changes.
Evening: After lunch comes our evening tea time.
-
You can have a healthy snack with your evening tea or have biscuits and chips in a lesser quantity.
-
Before the tea, I have fruit. It can be any fruit of your liking.
-
After tea, I take one hour break and exercise again. In this session, I focus mainly on little high-intensity exercises like jumping jacks, skipping rope, squats, and crunches for one hour.
-
After this, I go for 15 minutes of yoga for relaxation. Yoga relaxes the body.
Dinner: Now let’s discuss the last meal for the day – dinner.
-
Try to eat dinner as soon as possible (preferably between 7 and 8).
-
For dinner, go for a lighter meal. I like to prepare Pushtahar Daliya. It is super healthy, tasty, and easy to prepare.
-
Do not eat anything after you have dinner
That is it! These are the few lifestyle adjustments that will help you to lose weight in just 2 months. There is just one thing to remember – consistency and determination is the key 🙂
