If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that Preity Prerna is all about natural remedies that can be prepared with simple kitchen ingredients and don’t make a hole in your pocket.
Many people get confused about whether or not to use sunscreen, as they do not apply chemical-based products AT ALL.
But, if you’ve been following me for a long, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard me saving, we need to make a balance between natural and chemical products so we can get the best of both worlds.
In this blog post, we’ll understand the importance of sunscreen and how to choose sunscreen and then review some of the best available sunscreens.
(This is an unsponsored post. I never share anything with you that I’ve not applied on myself, you can trust me on that.)
Table of Contents:
Why Is Sunscreen Important?
We should wear sunscreen to protect ourselves from dangerous UV rays because our skin shields us from them. Our skin is vulnerable to the sun’s rays, even on cloudy days, which can eventually cause skin cancer, discolouration, and wrinkles.
Prevent Aging Symptoms :
-
People spending time in the sun without protection, particularly those in their 20s and 30s, are more likely to experience photoaging or premature ageing.
-
Thankfully, daily sunscreen use can avoid severe skin conditions.
Prevents/Reduces Risk of Sunburn :
-
Spending a lot of time outside without sunscreen, and utilizing tanning beds or booths, might result in sunburn.
-
Consistent sunburns can result in damage that can lead to skin cancer, premature ageing, and numerous other skin problems.
Reduces the Risk of Skin Cancer :
-
One of the strategies to avoid skin cancer is to use sunscreen every day, even when it’s cloudy.
-
By applying sunscreen with at least SPF 30, at least twice every day, you can reduce your risk of contracting this condition.
-
Using a higher SPF will provide you with even more security.
-
Apply sunscreen and reapply every two hours if you plan to be in the sun for an extended period or will be in the water.
Reduces and Prevents Inflammation :
-
Our skin can become painfully red and swollen when exposed to UV light.
-
For people with skin conditions like psoriasis or rosacea, this can be particularly difficult.
-
Everyday use of sunscreen helps reduce the risk of inflammation brought on by UV rays.
Prevents Skin Discoloration :
-
Usually tan to brown discolourations are sometimes known as “sun spots” or “liver spots.”
-
They can affect both men and women and frequently appear on the face, head, hands, and arms.
-
Regularly reapplying sunscreen throughout the day can aid in avoiding the development of these spots on your skin.
How To Choose The Perfect Sunscreen?
Before understanding how to choose the perfect sunscreen, I’ll tell you
HOW NOT TO CHOOSE SUNSCREEN?
-
Don’t buy it because your favourite influencers are saying it.
-
Don’t buy it because you watched so many reels of it.
-
Don’t buy it because it’s famous.
It is crucial to understand your skin and choose the product accordingly. A particular product might not react the same way for every person.
An SPF of 30 or more will guarantee that your skin is adequately protected, even on cloudy days, making it one of the most crucial factors to consider when picking products.
Remember to reapply sunscreen and choose a product with “broad spectrum” protection after swimming or towelling off. If you have sensitive skin and are unsure which sunscreen will suit you the best, consult a dermatologist.
A good sunscreen is what your skin craves the most. This list is based on the sunscreen I tried so far this year and what I feel is worth a try. If you are unable to find sunscreen for your skin, do not hesitate to consult a dermatologist.
